I am proud to have served as the Vice-Chair of the North Regional Committee over the last few years. I am committed to serving Scotmid and the wider co-operative movement. I want to do all that I can to promote Scotmid and the benefits of society membership across the whole region. I am a committed co-operator and I am a member of a number of other co-operatives such as the Fenwick Weavers Co-operative, Discovery Credit Union and Bala Fairtrade Sports Balls Co-op. Indeed, I serve as a director of Bala Sports. I am active in promoting Fairtrade in Dundee as the Convener of the Dundee Fair Trade Forum.
I think that our shops are at the heart of our communities and I want to work with the society to maintain and enhance our society. I think that co-operative values and principles are crucial to the future of our society and I want to play my part promoting these.
In all that I do I will be a strong voice for our members, our society and for co-operatives. We should be proud of what we are and not shy of promoting our co-operative difference.
